くらう【食らう】

1 〔食べる〕 wolf; gobble; polish off; inhale 《food》. [⇒くう²]

●大飯(_おおめし)を食らう put away [polish off] a big meal.

2 〔飲む〕 gulp; knock back [down] 《a beer》.

●大酒を食らう slug back a ton of booze.

3 〔受ける〕 be on the receiving end of 《a blow》.

●鉄拳[パンチ]を食らう get a fist [punch] 《upside the head》.
